ATXchange.org users can post free classified ads with a description
and/or picture of the item for sale or donation, search for
needed items and post want ads and request an e-mail alert
when a needed item is listed. Transactions are handled by
the sellers and buyers.
- Assistive Tech.net
Assistivetech is an online information resource providing up-to-date,
thorough information on assistive technologies, adaptive environments
and community resources. From the site: "We have designed
assistivetech.net to help users sift through the many choices
and find the solutions they need for assistive technology."
- ABLEDATA
Abledatas a national database of information on assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment available from domestic and international sources. ABLEDATA contains information on more than 23,000 assistive technology products, from white canes to voice output programs. The database contains detailed descriptions of each product including price and company information. The database also contains information on non-commercial prototypes, customized and one-of-a-kind products, and do-it-yourself designs.
- Able Data Consumer Review
Consumers! Share your experiences, good and bad, with specific assistive technology products.
- Disabled Dealer Michigan
The on-line version of the magazine which contains classified
ads for the following areas of used equipment: vans, homes,
RVs, and wheelchairs.
- Closing the Gap
Closing The Gap is an internationally recognized source for
information on innovative applications of microcomputer technology
in special education and rehabilitation.
- IBM's Special Needs Center
For information about IBM products and efforts to make products
accessible.
- AbilityHub
Assistive
Technology for computers and disability.
- Trace Research and Development
Center
The Trace Center is an interdisciplinary research, development
and resource center on technology and disability. It is part
of the Waisman Center and the Department of Industrial Engineering
at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. This site has a
search feature for documents on disability and technology
issues and information on universal design.
- The Alliance for Technology Access (ATA)
The Alliance for Technology Access (ATA) is a network of community-based
Resource Centers, Developers and Vendors, Affiliates, and
Associates dedicated to providing information and support
services to children and adults with disabilities, and increasing
their use of standard, assistive, and information technologies
- Infinitec Inc.
Infinitec Inc. is a U.S. non-profit corporation formed to help
people with disabilities and their families access life-enhancing
technology.
General Michigan AT Resources
- Michigan Centers for Independent Living
Centers for Independent Living are are grassroots, community
based non-profits run by people with disabilities for people
with disabilities. They provide advocacy, independent living
services, information and referral and peer support. The 15
centers in Michigan provide a variety of services related
to Assistive Technology. Their association, the Disability
Network/Michigan provides current contact information
for the centers.

- Michigan’s Integrated Technology
Supports (MITS)
Back
in November of 2006, Michigan’s Assistive Technology Resource (MATR)
became Michigan’s Integrated Technology Supports (MITS). Their
focus has broadened to include universal design for learning
(UDL). UDL is an emerging, promising practice, that seeks to
develop flexible goals, methods, materials and assessments to
meet the needs of the broadest range of students. Their web
page includes a wide range of resources.

Resources Monthly- Librarians' Connections
This site includes links to general online resources about library services for people with disabilities, internet discussion groups and online periodicals that deal with library services, library associations that deal with the library services for patrons with disabilities, online resources, sites that can help libraries provide services to people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, links to the home pages of libraries that have extensive collections for or about people with disabilities and links to help librarians share information about their resources, services, policies and procedures regarding access issues.

AgrAbility
This project offers education and assistance to help identify ways to accommodate
disabilities, eliminate barriers, and create a favorable climate among rural
service providers for people with disabilities. AgrAbility contributes to
preventing people from being forced out of agriculture because of their disabilities
and provides them with ideas for safe, affordable modifications and solutions
to help them maintain their businesses and life-styles.

Commission (FCC)
The site contains information on the Telecommunications Act
of 1996 and a link to the Disability Issues Task Force that
contains documents regarding information accessibility.
- U.S.
Access Board
The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board
(Access Board), an agency with a primary mission is accessibility,
has decided to establish an advisory committee to assist it
in developing a proposed rule on accessibility standards for
electronic and information technology covered by the Rehabilitation
Act Amendments of 1998. The Electronic and Information Technology
Access Advisory Committee includes organizations which represent
the interests affected by the accessibility standards for electronic
and information technology. Watch this page for notices of future
meetings. Notices will also be published in the Federal Register.
